Eva Nalubowa is a seasoned legal expert with a robust background in banking, finance law, and international taxation. Eva holds an LL.M. in banking and finance law from Boston University School of Law. Eva brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to JRK Advisory Limited. She is also a certified Advanced Diploma holder in International Taxation from the Chartered Institute of Taxation, London.
Eva has garnered extensive experience in both the legal and financial sectors. Her most recent role was as a Global Structuring Manager at MBO Partners Inc., Virginia, where she specialized in optimizing investment portfolios, advising on tax planning strategies, and ensuring compliance with US tax regulations for private equity firms. She has demonstrated a keen ability to navigate complex tax landscapes, offering strategic counsel on investment opportunities and ESG investments, contributing significantly to business development.
Before her role at MBO Partners, Eva served as a Legal and Tax Associate at KPMG in Kampala, Uganda. There, she provided invaluable advice on Uganda’s investment landscape, prepared transfer pricing reports, conducted financial data analysis, and represented clients before tax authorities. Her role also involved offering corporate governance advice and conducting comprehensive tax and legal due diligence analyses.
Eva’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Law from Uganda Christian University-
and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre in Kampala.
She has also been a Law Tutor at Uganda Christian University, where she imparted knowledge on subjects like revenue law, taxation, and international trade.
Her commitment to professional growth is evident from her numerous publications on topics ranging from biogas research funding to ESG disclosure requirements for investment advisers. Eva is also an active member of the East Africa Law Society’s
Banking and Finance Committee and has volunteered as a financial guide and community engagement specialist.
